Spring is in the air. (Really??) We want to remind everyone about the range rules. Outdoor times are from 9 AM to ½ hour prior to sunset or 9 PM. All shooting is take place from the covered pad. Indoor is open 9 AM to 10 PM. As always, follow safety rules. Treat every firearm as if it were loaded. Wear eye and hearing protection. Police up your used shells. Pick up your trash. Do not drag tables, chairs, etc downrange to hold your “targets”. Guests are welcome when with a member.
Our indoor range has limitations on what caliber the lead backstop can handle. Reminder no .17, no magnum loads. Watch for further calibers and firearm list not to be used in the indoor range. Remember to use the ventilation system. On the wall leading to the kitchen is the switch, just select the time to start the exhaust fan. Please run the dust mop over the range floor when you are done. This is an important step in keeping lead out of the air. Young people use that range, please protect their health.
Enough preaching! Hunter Safety Courses are happening now. Claude at the Blue Line will be happy to assist you in finding the one you need for spring hunting seasons. Or go on line and visit http://www.dec.ny.gov.
Reminder, the club is private property. You pay dues to use the facilities. Lock the gate when you are the last to leave. Let’s keep what’s ours, ours.
For those few who wanted T-shirts, the order was not large enough to go ahead with production and keep the cost reasonable. A newer member is looking into a different source and will bring information to the board for consideration. If you want more info, please contact Theresa at ttrudell@roadrunner.com or 524-2160.
Summer Gun Show & Flea Market is hoping to find a few people to assist Walt with the overall chairmanship. Walt is moving along with getting things done, but had a rough winter. He would like a little help so the two shows go on each time. Call him at 354 – 8699 for details. Al Fuller says there are openings for flea market vendors at the July show. Call him at 201-4018 for info.
