ELECTIONS: There will be a special election for treasurer held at the club membership meeting on Thursday, January 8th. If you are interested in this position please be at that meeting because nominations will be taken from the floor.

ANNUAL DUES: Membership runs from Jan 1st to Dec 31st. The combination on the gate and clubhouse is changed at the February meeting and you will have the new combination on your 2015 membership card. Please get your dues in so you can continue uninterrupted use of the club facilities.

ELECTIONS: There was an election of Officers and Board members at the December meeting. Here are the results: President Ceci Martin, Vice President Jim Jones, Recording Secretary/Treasurer Theresa Trudell, Membership Secretary Claude Premo. Board members, The new board members are: Wayne Granish, Leon Fredricks, and John Skiff. Continuing Board members are: Walt Kellem, Al Fuller, and Dan Ruchkin. Congratulations and may God help you all! Also congratulations to Ceci for graduating with a masters degree from Plattsburgh State.

PIE SALE: Results of our Pie Sale fundraiser will be in the next bulletin.

GUN SHOW: There are 2 new gun show operators that have stepped up to organize and put on the January Gun Show. Thank you Dan Ruchkin and Garry Hoffman, and much good luck to you. SPORTERIFLE: Sporterifle is in full swing for another winter of .22 fun. Come on to the club and shoot with us on Mondays starting at about 4 PM until all are done. We are always looking for new shooters. Please call team captain Charlie Marshall at 891-6018 or email him at for more info.

S.A.F.E. ACT UPDATE: There are several lawsuits ongoing against the governor and the SAFE Act. Please get involved with SCOPE or the NYSRPA or any of the other organizations fighting to get this heinous act to be obliterated.

SOAP BOX DERBY: The club has decided to build a soapbox derby car to race in the Daffest competition. If you are interested in helping with the construction please contact Steve Buzzell at 518-891-1000 work 891-1001 home or 891-7000 cell. Also if you have any kids or grandkids or friends' kids who are interested in driving the car in the race please contact Steve to get on the list. Members of the club have been helping with the derby for the last couple of years and we will do it again this year. I also want to thank Bob Bevilaqua of Carcuzzi Car Care for donating a slightly used Soapbox car to us.

TRUDEAU BIG BUCK CONTEST: At last count there were 13 registrants and 6 bucks entered. More news about winners in the next newsletter. Awards will be presented at the Critter Dinner/.

COLBY CLASSIC ICE FISHING DERBY: This years event will be held on March 7th and 8th 2015. Ceci Martin is the chairperson again this year. We will be needing members to ask local merchants to donate prizes. We will also need help for registration and weighing in the fish. Please step up and help with this event. It's a lot of fun and warmer than being out on the ice!

VETERAN'S CORNER: The Homeward Bound vets group will be meeting at the club on Sunday nights from about 6 PM to 8 PM. SHARPENING SERVICE OFFERED: Robert Knobel is a member who has a sharpening service and is able to sharpen almost any metal that will hold an edge including Hunting/Sporting Knives and Kitchen Knives. He charges $20/hr, with half of the proceeds going to the Saranac Lake Fish and Game Club. Time is figured on a timer and free pick up and delivery is offered. If you would like to tune up your edged items give Robert a call at 615-710-0541.

FOR SALE: Dave Bodah has a Glock 17 w/2 mags, mag loader,and 100 rounds of ammo for sale $425.00. Call 518-891-5989. Clarence Anderson, or 518-946-7117 has an excellent Winchester Mdl 52B .22 target rifle mfg 1948 for sale. $850.00. The club has for sale an item that was going to be used for the point well system. This is a virtually new Jet Pump. We also have two vintage Pepsi coolers in working condition. The club also has a bunch of white clay pigeons that we would like to sell. S.C.O.P.E NEWS: We have new Repeal the SAFE ACT yard signs for sale. If you want one they are available from Garry Hoffman or from me. Show everyone how you feel about your rights being trampled on. I also encourage everyone concerned about your gun rights to join S.C.O.P.E.
